
James Allison has left his role as Ferrari technical director with immediate effect, ending weeks of speculation about his future.
Allison re-joined Ferrari mid-way through 2013 and helped contribute to its turnaround last year, which saw it claim three wins and finish second behind Mercedes. However, the team has failed to build on that success this season and is yet to win in 11 races despite high expectations of a title challenge coming into the season.
Allison's departure was confirmed on Wednesday morning with a statement saying the two parties "jointly" decided to part ways.
