Tweaking MD settings

Folks, I'll be the first to admit that I am an absolute novice at computer programming when it comes to GP4, a game that I have enjoyed all these years. I haven't done much with car mods as I generally just use the 2001 carset that came with the original game but do like to try new tracks and have downloaded every one of them to try. A couple of tracks I have been frustrated with have been the 1988 Detroit track and the Urbano Fiction track - both I really like from a design and graphics standpoint. The Detroit track has always sort of bugged me as it always ran rather sluggishly while the urban track was just opposite, so fast it wasn't easy to keep the car off the walls. Conversely, one track I've always enjoyed is Phoenix, as my car was always competitive and the speed overall seemed just right. Just toying yesterday, I tried some experimenting and opened both Detroit and Phoenix in Zaz Tools to compare the Magic Data for each. I ended up duplicating the data from Phoenix to Detroit and voila! All the sudden Detroit runs much better. I decide then to do something similar in reverse by editing the Magic Data in Urbano to settings close to Phoenix and after some tweaking with gear ratios and wing, now Urbano is very good. Some of this stuff amazes me as it took me all these years to try something like this. Thanks again for all the help and conradery that has kept GP4 alive and well all these years.
